With over 20 years of dance experience in Winnipeg, Saskatoon and Mexico, Ms. Lindsie’s passion and love for dance has driven her to finally start a dance studio of her own so that students can experience that same joy she feels every time each and every time she gets in the studio and on stage!
Ms. Lindsie first began dancing at the age of seven and has since taken classes in Ballet, Jazz, Hip Hop, lyrical, tap and several Latin styles. She danced at various schools throughout Saskatoon and Winnipeg and has completed numerous Ballet Examinations from the Royal Academy of Dance, the most recent being Advanced 1. She has also trained and performed many Latin styles while she worked as a dancer for 6 months in Mexico.
Ms. Lindsie found her passion for dance and performing when she became a member of her first performance dance team within her first few months of starting, and trained with girls who were on average, 4-6 years older. She then went on to join a number of other dance teams in Saskatoon and Winnipeg, where she performed at local events and competitions around the city. Some of the numerous performances Ms. Lindsie has been involved with include the Children’s Wish Foundation Celebrity Lip Sync, Manitoba Children’s Museums Fundraisers, Health and Beauty Total Package Fitness Competition, Virgin 103.1 (formerly Hot 103.1) float in the Santa Claus Parade, Grey Cup Santa Claus Parade, various Wedding Socials and sporting events in Winnipeg as well as on local television stations such as Breakfast Television.
Ms. Lindsie has also participated in many dance workshops including the Pulse Dance Convention where she was instructed by world renowned choreographers such as Mia Michaels, Shane Sparks, Chris Judd, Brian Freidman, Laurie Ann Gibson and Dave Scott. She has also participated in numerous Dance competitions including In the Zone Hip Hop Dance Competition, and the Manitoba Provincial Dance Festivals.
Ms. Lindsie first began assisting when she was just 12 years old and became a certified dance instructor in the fall of 2005 and has been teaching ever since. She has taught classes for children and adults aging 2-50+ in Jazz, Ballet, Tap, Hip Hop and Lyrical both recreationally and competitively. Whatever style or ability of the student or class, Ms. Lindsie takes each class with a positive outlook and truly believes that the success of an individual lies solely within the joy they experience from that class.
More recently, Ms. Lindsie has opened her repertoire to include a number of Latin dance styles such as Salsa, Merengue, Bachata, Samba, Rumba and Mambo. She also learned other styles such as Rock n’ Roll, African, Country, Arabian, Can-Can, Mexican Folk as well as many more. She travelled to Mexico for 6 months to study and perform these styles every evening as part of the nightly entertainment on an All Inclusive Resort. Lindsie also had the opportunity to work closely with the head Choreographer to develop a new International show. She is constantly learning and updating all the different styles she has learned since first beginning classes at age 7.
Ms. Lindsie graduated with honours from the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Kinesiology as well as obtained her Personal Training Certification through the Canadian Society for Exercise Science. She has worked as a Wellness Consultant, Personal Trainer, Cardiac Rehabilitation Exercise Educator and Instructor, and Stroke and Neurofit Instructor. She is always finding ways to better herself as well as the studio. Most recently she has certified as a Zumba, Strong by Zumba as well as a Zumba kids instructor. Currently, she is working towards pre and post natal fitness certifications.
When she’s not at the studio, Lindsie and her husband Greg can be found playing and learning with their three children; Brooklyn, Georgia and Gavin. The family spends a lot of time outdoors and takes every opportunity to make as many memories as possible.
